Wildlife biologist retired in 2003 from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation after 371/2 years of service. During that period, Ron handled extension/public relations/education matters concerning fish and wildlife management in the western Finger Lakes Region. As part of those duties, he created and produced the Weekly Hunting and Fishing Report for radio stations across Western New York State for over 25 years. He also was responsible for the start of the Avon celebration of National Hunting & Fishing Day which he coordinated for 29 years. In retirement Ron continues with some wildlife education work, continues teaching trapper training courses, assists with nuisance wildlife complaints and enjoys deer hunting and trapping. |
